Taking the Iowa Drivers Permit Test

The only agency that can issue you with the Iowa drivers license is the Department of Transportation and that is where you will take your Iowa DOT permit test. You have to be at least 14 years old in order to be eligible for the permit exam. When you show up at the DOT office for your exam, be prepared to do the following:
