While the North Carolina DMV does its best to mark spaces where you cannot park with appropriate signs, there are still some parking rules you have to learn by heart as questions on parking will definitely appear on the North Carolina permit test. Sadly, we don't know of any little trick that would help you memorize the answer to this NC permit test question easily, the only way to go about this is to keep on taking the practice test with this question until you memorize all parking restrictions.

DMV Practice Test Answers

Answer A to the NC DMV practice test question suggests that the minimum parking distance from a fire hydrant is 10 feet. This is not correct.

Answer B to the DMV practice test NC sample quiz suggests that you should not park less than 15 feet of a fire hydrant or entrance to a fire station.

Answer C to the North Carolina DMV practice test question tells us that the minimum parking distance for such question is 25 feet. While you may have seen this number among parking restrictions in NC, it is not related to this particular question. According to the North Carolina drivers handbook, you may not park within 25 of the curb line of an intersecting street or within 15 feet of the intersecting right of way lines if there is no curb.

Answer D to the DMV practice test tells us that you should park at least 30 feet away from a fire hydrant. Just like some other options, this answer is not correct and it is just here to mask the correct answer.

Correct Answer To The NC Permit Test Question

The correct answer to this North Carolina permit test question is B:

“You may not park within 15 feet of a fire hydrant or entrance to a fire station”

Make sure to memorize the answer to this question and always read questions on the permit test attentively. Sometimes questions on the permit test are phrased in such way that may make you unsure as to what answer to choose, because some of the answers seem to be very similar. If you stumble upon such question, don't rush with answering it, just take another deep breath, read the question again and answer it only when you are sure about the answer.
